CO2-Questionnaire_Baseline

Questionnaire to measure current travel activity in the Department of Psychology.

Dear colleagues of the Department of Psychology!

We developed the internal, voluntary guidelines of the Department of Psychology last fall. From various sides came the wish to ´measure´ the effects of these guidelines, which then was not easy given Covid. Parallel to initiatives at university level to objectify CO2 on the basis of actual journeys (e.g. basis 2019), we want to record here – anonymously – the extent to which mobility planning and habits for short-haul flights may have changed as a result of the guideline (and/or the general societal debate). Since there is a high saving potential for short to medium distance flights, we focus on the main nearby flight hubs and record a retrospective, partially hypothetical baseline. Based on this, we record the mobility intention, i.e. whether we plan to continue like this in the future or whether we want to make changes. In one year, we would then record the actual trips, again retrospectively, and determine any changes in actual behaviors.

Thank you very much for your participation!

CO2-savings
(Dies ist eine Pflichtfrage.)
How many hours difference between train and plane (door to door) would you typically tolerate to save CO2?
hours
E. g. a train journey from Salzburg to Frankfurt would take 6 hours, whereas a flight would take 3 hours (including the journey to the airport, waiting times, etc.). This would be a difference of 3 hours.
(Dies ist eine Pflichtfrage.)

How many hours difference could you imagine as a general recommendation in the guideline of the psychology department?

hours

(Dies ist eine Pflichtfrage.)

Several Austrian universities implement mandatory extra costs added to short/midrange distance flights while fully using this money to fund cost for first class train travel and single cabin night train costs.

Please rate your acceptance of such a measure by indicating the amount that you would find acceptable to be added to flights / subtracted from said train costs. (unacceptable: 0 Euro, well accepted: e.g. 200 Euro)
